Explore and analyze information about the culture of immigrant groups within the United States. Students will select a national or ethnic immigrant group within the United States and investigate some element of the culture of that group after migration (i.e. after they arrived in the United States). Students will utilize course concepts (such as push/pull factors, cultural traits, adaptability, government regulation, etc.) to structure their analyses. Students will focus their analysison the practice of cultural traits within the United States and how the characteristics of their new home affected the way immigrant groups lived. Examples of those characteristics are urban/rural, coastal/interior, interactions with other immigrant groups, economic patterns, political geography (was the area part of the United States yet when those immigrants arrived?), etc
